Food Bank and Welfare Centre

Assisting the Most Vulnerable

Support and food provision

Vulnerable Citizen Support’s over-arching aim is to help anyone who needs it for any reason – no judgement, no realms of red tape or complicated referrals, just instant accessible support.
We run a food bank, baby bank and welfare centre in Armley and deliver food parcels to the whole of Leeds and West Yorkshire. If you need to access this service , for any reason, please get in touch or drop in to our centre which is open 8am-6pm, five days a week.
VCS can also offer housing aid, eviction advice, help escaping from domestic violence or abusive relationships, and rehabilitation support. We work with ex-offenders to help them rebuild their lives, we have assisted with fighting deportation cases and we can signpost to and, liaise with, a huge range of partner organisations.

Anyone can take a wrong turn, or experience bad luck, at any time and just need a small amount of support to get back on track. In the current climate especially, many people who have never needed help before are turning to us because they need some short -term support – if that’s the case for you, please get in touch.
Since we opened our welfare centre in February 2020, we have provided over 50,000 meals to more than 500 struggling families, housed 15 homeless families, made more than 500 baby bank referrals and delivered anti-knife crime workshops to over 2000 students, and this is just the beginning for us.
All of this has only been possible, though, with the help of public donations and volunteer time. If you can provide support, through donations, items to keep our food bank stocked or volunteering time, please visit our funding page.
